This guide will walk you through creating your first position and setting up an effective candidate screening process. By the end, you'll know how to configure questions, enable AI validation, and publish your position to start receiving quality applications.

Step 1: Access Your Dashboard and Start Creating

Once you log in to your 1WayInterview account, you'll land on your main dashboard. This is where all your positions live and where you can track your hiring progress. To create your first position, simply click the "Create Position" button.

Step 2: Enter Your Position Details

You'll start by entering the basics: your position name (like "Marketing Coordinator") and a detailed description of the role. You can also choose whether to save this as a draft for now or set it to active right away.

Step 3: Record a Position Introduction Video

Here's something we strongly recommend: record a position introduction video. This might feel like an extra step, but it makes a huge difference. When candidates see you—a real person—introducing the role and your company, they're much more likely to engage with your screening process and actually complete it.

Recording is straightforward. Click "Record Video", allow access to your camera and microphone, and introduce yourself authentically. Talk about the role, your company, what makes your team special. When you're done, click stop, save, and let it upload. That's it! This personal touch creates a human connection right from the start and makes candidates more comfortable recording their own video responses later.

Your Next Steps

Congratulations! You've just created your first position. In our next guide, we'll show you how to set up screening test questions in a way that would encourage candidates to complete your test.
