Use video-response questions to see how candidates present themselves and interact on camera.

1. Add a Video Question

  1. Go to Positions → select your job → Edit Questions.
  2. Click Add Question and choose Video as the answer type.
  3. Enter your prompt (e.g. "Walk me through how you manage client calls.").

2. Configure Settings

  • Required: toggle if you want to force an answer before submission.
  • Attempts: allow multiple recordings so candidates can retry.
  • Hints: add guidance on framing, lighting, or background.

3. Candidate Experience

When candidates open the interview link they will see:

  1. Your logo and job description.
  2. A link to your privacy policy.
  3. The video question prompt with buttons to:
    Start recording
    Review & retry
    Submit
  4. Mobile support—candidates can record via smartphone.

4. Reviewing Video Answers

  1. On the Candidates page, click the video icon to play.
  2. Leave comments or tags for teammates.
  3. Change the candidate's stage (e.g. "Screened," "Interview").
  4. Override any manual rating if needed.

5. Tips

  • Use video for customer-facing or communication-heavy roles.
  • Ask candidates to check their lighting and audio before recording.
  • Keep prompts clear and under 2 sentences.

Video questions give you a quick window into a candidate's presence and communication style—no extra tools required.
